Moon phase journalling for a cycle
Keeping a monthly writing practice tied to the lunar cycle.
Build me a journalling practice across one lunar cycle, using the phases as a writing rhythm rather than as influences on my life. For each of the eight phases: - Name the phase and describe what the moon actually looks like and when it is visible, so I can go outside and check. - Give the symbolic association in one line, and say whether it is traditional or a modern invention. - Give one journalling prompt of no more than two sentences. Make the prompts build on each other across the cycle so the last one can only be answered if I did the first. Then add: a two-line practice for nights I have five minutes, and one sentence on what to do about the fact that some months nothing interesting happens and the entries are dull. Frame the whole thing as a structure for attention. The moon does not cause anything here, it is a calendar with good imagery. Starting phase and date: What I want the cycle to be about:
Making it yours
- Paste your own material where the prompt asks for it. Everything above that line is instruction, not content.
- Delete any rule that does not apply to you. A shorter prompt that fits beats a thorough one that does not.
- If the answer comes back vague, add a line saying what you do not want. Constraints work better than encouragement.
