Turn recipes into one organised shopping list

Three recipes chosen and you do not want to walk the aisles three times.

Turn the recipes below into a single shopping list.

1. Combine duplicate ingredients and total the quantities, converting to the units things are actually sold in. If two recipes need 150ml of cream, tell me to buy one 300ml pot.
2. Group the list by supermarket section: produce, meat and fish, dairy, dry goods and tins, frozen, bakery, other.
3. Separate out a short **check first** list of things I probably already have: oil, flour, stock, spices, condiments. Do not make me buy paprika again.
4. Flag anything that will spoil quickly and say which recipe should therefore be cooked first.
5. Note any awkward quantity: where I am forced to buy far more than I need, and suggest one use for the remainder.

Keep it to a plain list I can read on a phone in a shop.

Making it yours

  • Paste your own material where the prompt asks for it. Everything above that line is instruction, not content.
  • Delete any rule that does not apply to you. A shorter prompt that fits beats a thorough one that does not.
  • If the answer comes back vague, add a line saying what you do not want. Constraints work better than encouragement.

Planning and hosting. Week plans, shopping lists, batch cooking, drinks, and getting several dishes hot at the same time.
