Write a cold email that gets a reply

Reaching out to someone who has no idea who you are and owes you nothing.

Longoutreachcold-email
Write a cold email to the person below. Assume they are busy, sceptical, and reading the first two lines on a phone.

Rules:
1. The first sentence says something specific about them or their work that proves this was not sent to two hundred people. Use only facts I give you, never invent a detail.
2. The second sentence says what I want, plainly.
3. One short paragraph on why it is worth their time, framed around their problem rather than my product.
4. One ask, and keep it small: a reply, a yes or no, fifteen minutes. Never "let me know a good time".
5. Under 120 words. No "I hope this finds you well", no paragraph about our mission.

If what I have told you is not actually a reason for them to care, say that before writing anything.

Who they are:
What I want:

Making it yours

  • Paste your own material where the prompt asks for it. Everything above that line is instruction, not content.
  • Delete any rule that does not apply to you. A shorter prompt that fits beats a thorough one that does not.
  • If the answer comes back vague, add a line saying what you do not want. Constraints work better than encouragement.

Outreach and chasing. Writing to people who owe you nothing, and nudging the ones who never wrote back.
