Write up the rationale for this design decision

Documenting a decision before everyone forgets why it was made.

Write a design rationale for the decision below, aimed at someone who joins the team in a year and asks why it is like this.

Sections:
- **Decision**: one sentence, present tense.
- **Problem**: what the user was struggling with, and the evidence if we have any.
- **Options considered**: each with its honest upside, not a strawman.
- **Why this one**: the trade we knowingly accepted.
- **What we gave up**: name it plainly.
- **Revisit if**: the specific signal that should make us change this.

Keep it under a page. Do not claim evidence we do not have. Where the real reason was a constraint such as time, scope, or a technical limit, say that outright rather than dressing it up as user research.
