Write a resignation or offboarding note

You are leaving and the note will outlive the feelings you have today.

Longcareeroffboarding
Write my resignation message. Assume it will be forwarded, stored, and reread by people I may work with again.

Rules:
- State that I am leaving and my last day, in the first two sentences.
- No reasons beyond one short, neutral line. Grievances belong in a conversation, not in a record.
- Offer a specific handover: what I will document, what I will transfer, and by when. Make it a real commitment rather than a gesture.
- One sincere line of thanks naming something true and particular. Skip it entirely rather than faking it.
- Under 150 words. Warm, clear, unresentful.

Then give me a shorter version for the wider team announcement, and tell me what I should say out loud rather than write down.

Context:
Last day:

Making it yours

  • Paste your own material where the prompt asks for it. Everything above that line is instruction, not content.
  • Delete any rule that does not apply to you. A shorter prompt that fits beats a thorough one that does not.
  • If the answer comes back vague, add a line saying what you do not want. Constraints work better than encouragement.

Hard news and conflict. Bad news, apologies, angry replies, boundaries and feedback that has to survive in writing.
