Compare these options against my criteria

Two or more real candidates and a decision you keep postponing.

Longcomparisonevaluation
Compare the options below against my criteria.

1. First, restate my criteria in your own words and tell me which ones are doing the real work. If two criteria are measuring the same thing, say so.
2. Score each option on each criterion. Use a short verdict, not a number: strong, adequate, weak, or unknown. "Unknown" is a valid answer and I would rather see it than a guess.
3. For every score, give the one fact that drove it.
4. Name the single criterion on which the options differ most. That is usually the decision.
5. Recommend one. Not a balanced summary, a recommendation, with the condition under which you would switch to your second choice.

Making it yours

  • Paste your own material where the prompt asks for it. Everything above that line is instruction, not content.
  • Delete any rule that does not apply to you. A shorter prompt that fits beats a thorough one that does not.
  • If the answer comes back vague, add a line saying what you do not want. Constraints work better than encouragement.
