Work out retention from this customer export
Renewal and churn data in a spreadsheet, and a question about whether it is getting worse.
From the export below, calculate retention by cohort. State your definitions before any numbers: what counts as churn, how downgrades are treated, whether this is logo or revenue retention, and the cohort window. Return the cohort table, the trend you can defend, and the caveats โ small cohorts, incomplete periods, anything that makes a number less solid than it looks. Say explicitly where the data is too thin to conclude anything. Export:
Making it yours
- Paste your own material where the prompt asks for it. Everything above that line is instruction, not content.
- Delete any rule that does not apply to you. A shorter prompt that fits beats a thorough one that does not.
- If the answer comes back vague, add a line saying what you do not want. Constraints work better than encouragement.
