Turn this question into a report spec
Someone asked for a dashboard and described a feeling rather than a metric.
Turn the request below into a report specification. Produce: the precise question the report answers, the metric and exactly how it is calculated, the filters, the grouping, the date basis (created, closed, or modified โ and why it matters here), and what the report deliberately excludes. List the ambiguities in the original request and the assumption you made for each. Finish with the one question to ask before building it. Request:
Making it yours
- Paste your own material where the prompt asks for it. Everything above that line is instruction, not content.
- Delete any rule that does not apply to you. A shorter prompt that fits beats a thorough one that does not.
- If the answer comes back vague, add a line saying what you do not want. Constraints work better than encouragement.
