Cut this email in half

You wrote five paragraphs and the ask is somewhere in paragraph four.

Cut this message down without losing anything that matters.

Do this:
1. Tell me the one thing this email is for, in a sentence. If there are three, say so and suggest splitting it.
2. Move the ask or the conclusion into the first two lines.
3. Delete: throat-clearing openings, context the reader already has, hedging, apologies for length, repeated points, and any sentence that exists to show I did the work.
4. Turn any run of conditions or dates into an actual list.
5. Give me the cut version, then the sentences you removed, so I can restore anything you were wrong to drop.

Target half the original length or less, readable on a phone without scrolling. Keep my voice. Make it shorter, not colder.

Draft:

Making it yours

  • Paste your own material where the prompt asks for it. Everything above that line is instruction, not content.
  • Delete any rule that does not apply to you. A shorter prompt that fits beats a thorough one that does not.
  • If the answer comes back vague, add a line saying what you do not want. Constraints work better than encouragement.

Drafts and replies. Turning notes, long drafts and tangled threads into something short enough to read.
