Plan the arrival day properly

The first day, which is usually wasted or overplanned.

Longarrivalitinerarypacing
Plan my arrival day. Assume I will be more tired and less capable than I currently believe.

1. Deal with logistics first, in order: getting from the arrival point to where I am sleeping, money, a local connection or data, and one supermarket run for water and breakfast.
2. Give me one orienting walk that teaches me the layout and takes under an hour. Say what to notice.
3. Pick a low-stakes dinner: nearby, not booked, not a destination meal. Save the good one for later in the trip.
4. Tell me what to set up tonight that makes tomorrow easier, for example tickets to buy, an alarm, a bag packed.
5. If I am crossing time zones, tell me exactly when to sleep and whether to nap.

Do not schedule a major sight on this day. Mark anything time-sensitive as [verify before travel], including transfer options at my arrival hour.

Where I land, when, and where I am staying:

Making it yours

  • Paste your own material where the prompt asks for it. Everything above that line is instruction, not content.
  • Delete any rule that does not apply to you. A shorter prompt that fits beats a thorough one that does not.
  • If the answer comes back vague, add a line saying what you do not want. Constraints work better than encouragement.

Shaping the days. Itineraries, arrival days, long routes and work trips paced for how you actually travel.
