Chase actions nobody clearly owns

A week after a meeting, when half the actions have quietly not happened.

Longactionsfollow-upwriting
Here are actions from a recent meeting. Some are vague or unowned.

1. Identify each action that is not actionable, and say specifically what is wrong: no owner, no date, no definition of done, or two actions disguised as one.
2. Rewrite each into a form someone could complete or decline.
3. Draft the follow-up message for each unclear one. Under 40 words, addressed to the likely owner, asking a closed question they can answer in a line. No passive aggression, no "just checking in", no implied accusation.
4. Flag any action that probably should not exist, because it was agreed in the room to end an awkward silence.

For anything where I have not told you who was in the meeting, ask rather than assigning a name.

Actions:

Making it yours

  • Paste your own material where the prompt asks for it. Everything above that line is instruction, not content.
  • Delete any rule that does not apply to you. A shorter prompt that fits beats a thorough one that does not.
  • If the answer comes back vague, add a line saying what you do not want. Constraints work better than encouragement.

Updates and follow-ups. The message after the meeting: status for a manager, a team update, and chasing what stalled.
